I’m Chelsea Welch, the Assistant Director of Enrollment Services.
I received my B.A. in 2003 in psychology, my M.Ed. in counselor education in 2005,
and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in higher education.
I joined the Ole Miss recruiting team in 2005.
I love being a part of the Ole Miss family with its tradition and Southern hospitality.
I chose Ole Miss because of the amazing opportunities it offers to all students
and because of the beauty and charm of the campus and the city of Oxford.
Ole Miss is a place I’m proud to call home.
Fun Facts:
Pets: 2 rescued cats—Murphy and Dexter McCluster (named after Ole Miss’ own 2009 Cotton Bowl MVP!)
Secret indulgence/guilty pleasure(s): I have a fascination with figure skating and at one point in my life could perform Kristi Yamaguchi’s
entire gold-winning routine from the 1992 Olympics…but not on skates.
Favorite Food(s): Ice cream!
If I had to eat dinner with one person who would it be and why? President Obama and Bo, the First Dog. But definitely at their House, not mine.
If I were trapped on an island with one person who would it be and why? Michael Phelps.
I think he could probably teach me a thing or two about swimming while we’re there…and maybe even figure out how to get home.
Favorite place you have traveled to: I once traveled up the east coast by train with my grandmother. It’s one of my favorite memories.
Favorite Book(s): I wish I could say it’s something by Faulkner (after all, this IS Ole Miss),
but I do love to read and spend a lot of time at Square Books on the historic Oxford Square.
