I’m Dana Ros, the community college admissions counselor for the eastern half of Mississippi and regional admissions counselor for Oxford High School.

I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was raised in Pascagoula, Mississippi. I attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where I was an active member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. I graduated from Ole Miss in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. I joined the Ole Miss recruiting team in 2007 and currently live in Oxford.

I love the family aspect of the University, and my favorite time to experience that aspect is “groving” before the football games. I chose Ole Miss because I loved SEC sports, the atmosphere and campus life. I wanted to stay in Mississippi, and I found UM very cost efficient. It also didn’t hurt that my favorite NFL player, Deuce McAlister of the New Orleans Saints, played for Ole Miss.

Fun Facts:

Pets: A German Short-Haired Pointer named Bishop.
Secret indulgence/guilty pleasure(s): hmmm... I have so many. Playing Sims 3, watching Gossip Girl and signing my athletic posters as if I were the player.
Favorite Food(s): Shrimp Po-boy from Bozo’s Grocery in Pascagoula, MS and the P-5 at Papitos in Oxford, MS — Mexican Cheesy Chicken and Rice.
If I had to eat dinner with one person, who would it be and why? Jimi Hendrix—I am mesmerized by his musical genius and would love to be able to learn “All Along the Watchtower” from the master of guitar.
If I were trapped on an island with one person, who would it be and why? My sister, because she always knows how to make me laugh and keep me entertained. Plus, we both love islands, so we would be in paradise.
