I’m Jenny Kate Whelan, the Regional Admissions Counselor for Arkansas, Missouri (outside of the boot heel), and Coahoma,
Tallahatchie, Grenada, Washington, Sunflower, Leflore, Carroll, Holmes, Sharkey, and Issaquena counties in Mississippi.
A native of Greenwood, Mississippi, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ole Miss in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
While at Ole Miss, I was recruitment chair of my sorority, worked at the Division of Outreach and Continuing Education,
and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Mortar Board, and Order of Omega.
Following graduation, I attained a Master’s in advertising and public relations from The University of Alabama.
Prior to joining the admissions staff in 2009, I worked for an advertising agency in Jackson, Mississippi,
and for a health care group handling promotions in Greenwood, Mississippi.
I was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and raised in Greenwood, Mississippi.
I joined the recruiting team in 2009.
I chose Ole Miss because of the amazing English department,
and because of the great experience I had visiting the University in high school.
The atmosphere and feeling I got when visiting campus made my decision an easy one.
My favorite things about Ole Miss are the people here (friends, faculty, and staff), and the grove on a spring day.
