Admission to the University is administered under policies established
by state law, the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning,
and the University's faculty. Admission requirements are subject to change
without notice at the direction of the Board of Trustees.
Applications
Application forms for enrollment on the Oxford campus as an undergraduate may be obtained from and submitted to the Office of Admissions, The University of Mississippi, University, MS 38677; for the Graduate School, to the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, The University of Mississippi, University, MS 38677; for the School of Law, to the Director of Admissions, School of Law, The University of Mississippi, University, MS 38677. An application for undergraduate admission may also be transmitted electronically through the University's World Wide Web site at http://www.olemiss.edu/admissions/undergrad.html.
Off-Campus Sites
The University of Mississippi offers undergraduate classes at various locations including Tupelo, Southaven, Jackson, and other sites. Degree credit earned at these locations will be treated as residence credit and appear on the student's permanent academic record. Students at off-campus sites must meet regular admission requirements and be accepted for admission to the University.
Application Deadlines
Applicants for admission (undergraduate or graduate) are advised to submit the application for admission well in advance of the period in which enrollment is sought. Applications are accepted as early as one year prior to the desired enrollment. It may not be possible to evaluate applications received later than 20 days prior to registration; late application may require the applicant to register after classes begin.
Application Fee
A non-refundable application fee of $50 is required of new non-resident students and $25 for Mississippi residents. If submitting a paper application, payment should be submitted in the form of personal check or money order along with the application for admission. Online applicants may pay with a debit/credit card or may print out the application and mail with a check or money order.
Immunization Requirement
The Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, in cooperation with the Mississippi State Board of Health, requires all entering students born after January 1, 1957, to submit proof of two immunizations for measles and one for rubella prior to registration. Immunizations must be given after one year of age. Forms for documenting immunizations or establishing an exemption to the requirement are available from the Office of Admissions or the Student Health Service.
