Hometown: Tupelo, Miss.

Major: International studies

Residence hall: Brown

Favorite place to relax on campus: Any hidden nook of the library or on one of the huge couches at St. Anthony Hall

Favorite class freshman year: Spanish 111 and 211 with Profesora Kaufmann

Favorite thing to do when I’m not studying: I played a lot of Grand Theft Auto III this year (not San Andreas, not Vice City and not Liberty City Stories, mind you, but all the way back to GTA III).

Favorite place to go in Oxford: For food,
Yocona River Inn ($$$), Two Stick ($$),
Old Venice ($) or the Chevron (almost
free!). The coolest place to hang out in
Oxford, though, is Square Books; I’ve
read a couple of books for my classes
on the porch there.

3 adjectives that best describe
my first month at Ole Miss:
Fast,
demanding and a lot of fun!

A few words of advice for new
freshmen:
Personally, I would have
gone to class more. No one is there
to tell you to do this — no mom, no
dad, no grandma, no uncle, no
aunt, no auntie. And so on some
mornings, you’ll wake up and be
like, “Eh, what’s the purpose? I’d
rather sleep, and I can still get the
notes online and make an A on
the test.” And this seems like a really
great idea at the time, believe me.
But then at the end of the semester
when you have to face your parents
with a C or a D in a class, you realize
that maybe sleeping through that eight
o’clock all those times wasnít as good
an idea as it seemed at the time.
