Our Family The Alliance for Graduate Education in Mississippi is a comprehensive program for enhancing entry into and successful completion of minority students in science, mathematics, and engineering graduate programs.  The alliance is a consortium comprising Mississippi's four PhD granting institutions (The University of Mississippi as administrative lead, Jackson State University, Mississippi State University, and the University of Southern Mississippi).
The ultimate goals of the program are to increase the number of students from under-represented minorities who enter science, mathematics and engineering graduate programs in the consortium institutions; to increase the number of these students who successfully complete a PhD degree; to increase the number of doctoral students who enter academia; and to bring about a systemic change in attitudes of faculty and students.
