The University of Mississippi

Welcome to the University of Mississippi Choirs!

Thank you for visiting our web page and for your interest in the Choral program at the University of Mississippi in Oxford.  We have a long tradition of choral excellence and I hope you will want to be part of our future.  I am currently in my seventeenth year as Director of Choral Activities at Ole Miss, and I am quite proud of the program we have established that offers students a quality and varied choral experience.  Our ensemble offerings include the Men’s Glee, Women’s Glee, Women’s Ensemble, Concert Singers and University Chorus.  If you are interested in singing, we have a choir for you!  Amongst the membership in our choirs you will find many music majors, but also students representing a cross-section of all majors found on campus.  Students participating in choir have the opportunity to audition for talent scholarships.  For more information on auditions and scholarships, explore further on this web site.

The University of Mississippi performing facilities are some of the best in the country.  The Ford Center for the Performing Arts is a 1,100 seat state-of-the-art facility, and is where we perform our major choral/orchestral repertoire and holiday events.  In addition, Paris Yates Chapel provides a 250 seat venue with excellent acoustics for many of our performances. Our choirs have performed in the USA, including many conventions of the ACDA and MMEA, and recently in Carnegie Hall.  The Concert Singers have performed in Austria, Czech Republic, France, and Germany.

The University of Mississippi provides a wonderful, safe, learning environment.  I hope you will want to visit our campus soon!

Sincerely,

Dr. Donald Trott
Director of Choral Activities
