Clickers

What is a clicker?

Clickers are wireless keypads or personal response systems that faculty can use to increase interactivity in their classroom, especially for a large lecture class. This technology provides instant feedback to both instructors and students.

The University-supported clicker on campus

Interwrite™ PRS RF by GTCO CalComp is the officially supported personal response system (PRS) or "clicker" on campus.

What should I do if I want to use clickers in my class?

The first thing faculty will need to do is to contact the bookstore to order their textbook and clickers. Bookstore contact information can be found on the Clicker Resource page. After a clicker order has been placed with the bookstore, faculty will need to contact the FTDC at 915-7918 to request a free RF receiver. Training will be available through the FTDC.

What ID should students enter the first time they use their clicker?

Students should all enter their UM ID Number when prompted the first time they use their clicker. This ID is the 8 digit number assigned by the University that is a unique identifier. They are not to enter their SSN. Step by step instructions can be found under Resources.
