Timeline

January

  • Since you are familiar with the graduation- day schedule by now, booking flights, hotel rooms and dining reservations for the weekend would be a recommended next step

February

  • If you have not yet received notification about your May 2013 or August 2013 approval for graduation, then contact your advisor or school's dean immediately. To find your school's contact information: visit the Ole Miss homepage, select the 'Colleges & Schools' drop box, then select your respective school or college.

March

  • For those whose applications have been processed and approved, the Registrar's Office will be sending cap and gown information via email.
  • Grad Fair will be held in the Student Union lobby from March 5-7. Hours of event forthcoming. During Grad Fair you will be able to take care of the following tasks:
    • Order the required cap and gown through the Ole Miss Bookstore
    • Grad Fair will be held in the Student Union lobby from Tuesday, March 5 to Thursday, March 7.
    • The following departments and entities will be available during the Grad Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday:
      • The Office of the Registrar will explain necessary steps for degree application
      • Career Center professionals will help with resume and interview information
      • Personnel from the Ole Miss Book store will measure and take orders for caps and gowns
      • Herff-Jones will be available to take class ring and graduation invitation orders
      • Alumni Association will accept registrations
      • Officers from the Class of 2013 will provide information about the senior fundraising project
    • Opportunity to order class rings

April

  • Make travel, lodging and dining reservations for graduation weekend, if you have not already done so. Below is the link to the Oxford Tourism Council
  • Check the Daily Mississippian and UM Today for yearbook pickup times this month. These are free for all students
  • Your respective school will be sending out specific graduation instructions for the big day
  • Candidates will receive specific instructions for the morning convocation via email

May

  • Pay any outstanding Bursar balance by Graduation Day, May 11th.
  • May 11th, 2013 – Commencement ceremony for all graduates for December 2012, May 2013 and August 2013
  • Visit gradimages.com to purchase photos taken during your respective school's ceremony

June

  • August 2013 graduates must complete the necessary courses in order to official obtain undergraduate degree
  • Office of the Registrar begins posting May 2013 degrees and mailing out diplomas
