Two midterm exams will cover selected material in the text and handouts, and a comprehensive final exam will cover all material presented during the course. A separate sheet provides the intended schedule of the lectures, text readings, homework assignments, and exams.

Computing Tools: A student account will be required. Open one at 321 Powers Hall if you do not have one. Various programming tools will be used in class exercises and in handouts, including general purpose tools such as MATLAB, Fortran77, and QuattroPro as well as the structural software SABLE that is provided in the text. Homework assignments will require use of these or their equivalents (e.g. Mathcad, C/C++, and Excel for the general purpose tools) which must be approved by instructor. Contact instructor regarding your level of programming proficiency and any special needs for tutorial instruction.
