Summary : Continuation of ENGR 309 covering advanced topics (sections asterisked in text) in chapters listed below.

I. Equilibrium of rigid body systems

II. Motion of particles and rigid body systems


Grading Summary: Two midterm exams will cover most asterisked topics in Chs. 5-9 and select topics in Chs. 10,13,14, respectively. The final exam will cover all material presented during the course with emphasis on Chs. 16,17,19.

Midterm Exams I, II................................................. 40 % ( 20 % each)
Final Exam (Comprehensive)................................. 25 %
Homeworks (Excl. Programming)........................... 25 %
Computer Programming ........................................... 10 %

Computers/Programming: A student account on Sunset will be required for email and web access. Software on Sweetgum and the PC's in the Engineering Microcomputer Lab and Weir Hall is recommended for simple programming assignments. Example MATLAB and FORTRAN programs will be presented in class and posted on the course web site
