ATTENDANCE, AND CLASS INVOLVEMENT POLICIES

Student attendance and involvement are an essential component in the format of Music 103. Numerous listening examples and technical knowledge is provided during each class session. The expressive and structural elements of music can only be learned through direct hearing and guided assistance.

Students who are experiencing difficulty with an attendance policy in this or any class should meet with the instructor to discuss these difficulties as soon as they occur. Absences for official school activities are excepted; however, it is the student's responsibility to make an instructor appropriately and officially aware of such school-related activities in writing.

Take careful note:

*After two non-official absences, a penalty of 5 points per absence will be applied to the final grade for each absence.

*One late arrival to class = one third of an absence.

*Ten or more absences will result in an "F" for the course.

*All assigned work is due on time.
