Volunteer Application Process

The 15-member volunteer task force is comprised of faculty and staff and is responsible for coordinating and supporting volunteer activities associated with the debate.

The volunteer task force will review the quality of each individual’s application along with the level of interest to serve in various volunteer opportunities. The task force will also consider an applicant’s skill set, experience, and overall availability. All selected volunteers will be required to attend training before fulfilling their responsibilities.

Applicants will be notified through e-mail by September 5 as to whether or not they have been chosen to serve as volunteers.

The volunteer task force will review only the information provided by the applicant. The task force will not have access to any other personal information when making its decisions.

Shortly after submitting your application, you should receive an e-mail confirming the receipt of your application.

The U.S Secret Service will conduct a background check on all volunteers who will serve within the debate site area. The task force will not have access to this information when making its decisions.

To edit information on an application, please e-mail the requested changes with your name and contact information to debate-volunteer@olemiss.edu. Changes to your application will no longer be accepted after July 25.
