Taking a Class as an Employee

If you are interested in taking a class or two as an employee of the University (taking advantage of the faculty/staff fee waiver) here's what you need to do:

  1. Contact Admissions and let them know you are an employee that plans to enroll to take classes.
  2. Apply.  Employees are encouraged to submit a paper application.  Please submit the $25 application fee upon submission of your application.
  3. You will get a letter of acceptance.
  4. You then need to contact the school in which you will be taking a class to find out who your advisor will be. Your advisor will have the information you need to be able to register for classes online.
  5. Get permission from your department head before registering for classes.
  6. Register.
  7. Complete an HR Form 19 (must be signed by your department head) and submit to HR.
  8. Be sure to sign your award notification letter (can be found online after logging into online services) for Financial Aid. Please be aware that the award will not be disbursed until this letter is signed and any interest that is incurred due to the unsigned award letter is not waived.

There is also a Staff Textbook Scholarship available. For more information, please visit the Staff Council homepage .
