Below you will find current student job opportunities. You are encouraged to contact other departments directly (such as the library, union, student housing, etc.) to find out if they currently have student positions available. Please check this website often for new postings.
Once your have been offered a student job, you must complete employment paperwork in order to get paid.

POSITION: Rebel Quest Leaders
DEPARTMENT: HESRM

JOB DESCRIPTION: Rebel Quest is a four week day camp opportunity from June 2 – June 27 for children advancing into grades 2 – 7. Employee training will take place between May 27 and May 30 (first week of First Summer Session). Leaders are needed for both instruction and assisting directly with the children. Activity instruction is needed in a variety of recreational pursuits including sports, nature study, outdoor education, team-building games, sensory activities, and fine arts including art, dance, and music. This is a perfect part-time position to take as work shifts can be taken in the morning or afternoon depending on when you are enrolled in first summer classes. Pay: Wages are paid in summer school tuition (with certain restrictions) or as an hourly wage. The position requires a completing a background check.
POSITION: Garden Worker
DEPARTMENT: Medicinal Plant Garden (under the National Center for Natural Products Research) for the spring

JOB DESCRIPTION: Seed cleaning and biomass harvesting (now); caring for hundreds of plants and seedlings in two greenhouses - watering, fertilizing, transplanting (early spring); care of species in 52 raised beds (weeding, watering, fertilizing, transplanting) and one large shadehouse (spring/summer), as well as two greenhouses. Additional duties may include light maintenance tasks in greenhouses and around the garden area, as well as assistance in research projects. Must be able to work independently with attention to detail, as well as enjoyment of working with plants. Previous gardening, horticultural/botanical experience is absolutely required - this job involves a great deal of responsibility to maintain a living plant collection with rare species. This is an OUTDOOR job - must be able to tolerate high heat and humidity and getting dirty. No beginners. This is not an office job. You will be working with a great team of folks who love plants and care about the research being done here. Hours are flexible during the week from 8-5. References required. Pay: $7.00/hr undergraduate; $9.00/hr graduate
