Jack Winstead, CPA (Inactive-Tennessee) began his doctoral studies in the fall of 2008. His research and teaching interests focus primarily on accounting information systems and auditing topics, with secondary interests in cost/managerial and accounting pedagogy. He currently teaches Introduction to Accounting Principles classes.
Prior to pursuing a terminal degree, Jack earned bachelors and master’s degrees in accounting from The University of Tennessee at Martin. Jack’s professional experience spanned auditing and accounting roles in industry and government, beginning with the establishment of the internal audit operation for a regional retail chain and with auditing county governments for a state agency. Most recently, Jack served as a small manufacturer’s first CFO/Controller, leading a successful movement to a comprehensive accounting information system.
Jack’s professional and academic memberships include the American Accounting Association, the Institute of Management Accountants, the Institute of Internal Auditors, and ISACA, among others.
