Dr. Morris H. Stocks received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Trevecca Nazarene University, his Masters degree from Middle Tennessee State University and his Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Dr. Stocks has been at The University of Mississippi since 1991 and teaches financial accounting. He also serves as Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. He is the 1998 recipient of the University’s most prized teaching honor, the Elsie M. Hood Outstanding Teacher Award. Dr. Stocks has published in many of his profession’s top journals, including Accounting, Organizations and Society; Accounting Horizons; Behavioral Research in Accounting; Decision Sciences; Advances in Accounting; Issues in Accounting Education; Advances in Accounting Information Systems; Advances in Behavioral Accounting Research; Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal and Advances in Taxation. He has also published in several professional journals, including The Journal of Accountancy, Today’s CPA, The Ohio CPA and Management Accounting Quarterly. He is a member of the American Accounting Association, The American Institute of CPAs, The Decision Sciences Institute, as well as several academic honorary societies.
