Mitch Wenger is an Assistant Professor in the Patterson School of Accountancy at The University of Mississippi. Mitch earned his B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois, his MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington, and his Ph.D. program from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Mitch is a CPA in the state of Texas and brings twenty-plus years of practice and industry experience to the classroom. He was a manager with Arthur Andersen/Andersen Consulting in Dallas and Charlotte before managing enterprise software projects in the retail industry and managing the logistics practice at a startup consulting firm. Later, he managed a services practice, advised on potential acquisitions, and developed new product prototypes for Hyperion Solutions (now part of Oracle Corporation).

Mitch's primary research interests are in the area of accounting systems: their impact on relationships within organizations and the ways in which they facilitate changes in internal measures of success. He is an active member of the American Accounting Association, the AICPA, and the Association for Information Systems.
