Mitch Wenger is an Assistant Professor in the Patterson School of Accountancy at The University of Mississippi. He teaches the undergraduate Accounting Systems course. His primary research interests are also in the area of accounting systems: their impact on organizations and their internal measures of success.

Mitch earned his B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and his MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is currently completing his Ph.D. program at Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to embarking on his Ph.D. work, Mitch was active in industry for nearly twenty years. He began his career with Arthur Andersen in Dallas and Charlotte, and then worked in the supermarket industry before returning to a startup consulting firm. After that, he spent nine years in the consulting, product management, and sales organizations for Hyperion Solutions, a software firm specializing in enterprise-level performance management solutions targeted at Global 2000 businesses.

Mitch is a CPA in the state of Texas and is an active member of the American Accounting Association, the AICPA, and the Association for Information Systems.
