Dr. W. Mark Wilder, PhD, CPA, is interim dean and professor of accountancy at The University of Mississippi. Dr. Wilder joined the Ole Miss faculty in 1993 after completing doctoral studies in accounting at Florida State University. He received an MBA from the University of South Alabama (1989) and a bachelor's degree from The University of Alabama (1985). Dr. Wilder grew up in northeast Alabama, graduating from Jacksonville, AL high school in 1980.

Dr. Wilder's primary teaching activities while at Ole Miss have been in financial accounting (Intermediate Accounting I and Intermediate Accounting II) and Governmental/Not-for-Profit Accounting. He has conducted research in a wide variety of areas including earnings forecasting, financial reporting, issues facing the profession, and accounting education. In addition, Mark has served on numerous doctoral committees while at Ole Miss and is actively involved in university and professional service. Dr. Wilder has served as president of the Northeast Chapter of the MSCPA and has recently completed a two-year term on the MSCPA Board of Governors.

Mark is an avid sports fan and was an All-SEC collegiate tennis player while at the University of Alabama. In April of 2004 he was inducted into the Alabama Tennis Hall of Fame. He is married to the former Denise (Dede) English. They have sons Zachary and Sam.
