Message from the Dean

Welcome to the Patterson School of Accountancy Web site. We hope that you will take a moment to explore the site, learn about our programs, and meet our outstanding faculty and students.

Things are busy here at the Patterson School of Accountancy, especially this spring semester. Prospects are outstanding, and our enrollment is strong, with 700 students. We are extremely proud to report that all of our programs (undergraduate, graduate and doctoral) are ranked among the top 30 in the nation, according to the Public Accounting Report. This is the third consecutive year that our programs have been ranked at this level or higher.

We are also proud of the successes of our students and the ongoing development of our academic programs. The senior year internship program continues to help define our undergraduate program. Entering its fifth year, we have now placed students in 50 different firms/companies across thirteen states, Washington D.C., and two foreign countries. In spring 2008, we have sixty eight students participating in internships.

Please visit us when you are on campus. Mark your calendar for Accountancy Weekend, which is scheduled for April 24-26, 2008. The weekend begins with our Accountancy Awards Banquet on Thursday, April 24, and coincides with Oxford’s Double Decker Festival and a home baseball series with the Arkansas Razorbacks. Also, the Beta Alpha Psi golf tournament is scheduled for Friday, May 2. We had a great turnout last year for both events and hope you will plan to join us this year.
