Interstate discounted lodging is frequently available through government rate programs. Often times, major chains will honor these rates.

When traveling out of state on official business and making your own arrangements, always request the government rate. You should take your University I.D. card with you as verification of employment.

Remember if you choose to use a state travel agency to make your hotel arrangements, the state travel agency will check for the government rate.
