FAQ

Q: Does the airport charge a ramp fee?
A: Beginning February 1, 2009 the airport will implement a ramp fee: $10 for Single Engines, $20 for Twin Engines, $40 for Turbo Props, and $75 for Jets(Gulfstream IV and V, and Global Express $100). With a top of fuel your first day of parking is free. There are also Special Event fees in place for Football Games and other Special Events related to the University of Mississippi due to the fact that ramp space is limited and is filled on a first come, first serve basis.

Q: Does the airport have tie-downs and is there a fee for this?
A: The airport does have free tie-down space and is filled on a first come, first serve basis.

Q: Does the airport provide a courtesy car?
A: A courtesy car is provided first come basis, with a 2 hour limit and with a valid drivers license.

Q: Does the University/Oxford Airport provide wireless internet service?
A: Free wireless internet is provided (Wi-Fi) and free weather service is also available (Meteorlogix and Weathertap.com)

Q: How can I be sure I am receiving quality fuel services?
A: All employees of the University/Oxford Airport receive annual quality control and fuel management training along with portable fire extinguisher training. Tests of fuel in storage tanks and fuel trucks are also performed and documented on a daily basis.

Q: How do I get a rental car?
A: Call the local Enterprise Rental Company (662)281-0508, they will deliver to the airport and you can sign for and pick up your car with no hassle. (Try and schedule rental cars as early as possible for football games and other busy functions)

Q: Are after-hours services available? 
A: Yes, call (662)234-2036 for after hours services, $120.00 callout fee applies.

Q: Do you have an on-site A&P Aircraft Mechanic?
A: Not at this time..

Q: Are there commercial flight services available at University Oxford Airport?
A: There are no commercial flight services, our main customer base consists of businesses, private pilots, and charters.

Q: How do I get a discount on fuel?
A: We offer a volume discount to all customers, $.25 off when you get 50 gallons or more of 100LL/Avgas or 250 gallons or more of Jet A.

Q: Does the University of Mississippi have a flight school program?
A: The University does not currently offer a flight school program, however there are a couple of Certified and Commercial Flight Instructors available for lessons.

Q: Does UOX have contract fuel?
A: No, currently we only offer the volume discounts.

Q: Can I purchase Aeronautical Charts at the airport?
A: Yes, we have a variety of charts available including: Sectionals, IFR Enroutes, Airport Facility Directories, Approach Plates, and VFR Terminal Area Charts. You can also purchase the current edition of AC-U-KWIK-North American.

Q: Do you provide catering or have an onsite restaurant?
A: We have no onsite restaurant, catering may be arranged 3 days in advance with Ole Miss Catering, call (662) 915-7041
