Robert Wood Johnson Foundation profile of Health Promotion graduate Dr. Abigail Gamble.

Abigail Gamble of Manahawkin, N.J., completed her doctoral degree in Health Behavior from the University of Mississippi in May 2011. Dr Gamble was recently profiled by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in an article entitled Informing Physical Activity Policies in Rural Mississippi.

• Recognition of the outstanding students in the School of Applied Sciences continues to grow. This year the school is pleased to announce that three of our students were selected to receive the Taylor Medal Award. The Taylor Medal is one of the most prestigious academic honors that undergraduate students can receive at The University of Mississippi. The 2009 School of Applied Sciences Taylor Medalists are Ruth Ann Cooper and Lauren Furr, Communication Sciences and Disorders majors, and Katherine Sullivan, a Dietetics and Nutrition major. Congratulations to these students on this meritorious achievement.
• Department of Social Work student Tatum Dellinger selected by NASW for the Claire Nowlin Undergraduate Award
• Social Work Grad in National Salary Report Story: UM social work graduate Aubrey Carter was cited in the PARADE magazine’s annual What People Earn report. Check out the Bright Spots in the Job Market which cites several Applied Sciences fields as bright spots!
