Letter from the Dean

Welcome! As we begin the ninth year of the School of Applied Sciences, I am pleased to share with you in this newsletter some of the outstanding accomplishments and impressive activities of our students, faculty and alumni. From national leadership positions held by alumni, to cutting edge research being conducted by faculty and students, these stories just scratch the surface of the amazing things happening in the school.

Over the past eight years, the School of Applied Sciences has more than doubled its enrollment and remains the most diverse school on the campus. We now have graduate programs in every department and are pleased to say that the school continues to develop innovative academic programming from a minor in intelligence and security studies to applied learning in teaching laboratories such as Lenoir Dining.

As we approach our 10th birthday, we want to thank you for your loyalty and commitment to the School of Applied Sciences. The school is strong and vibrant, thanks to the support of our alumni and friends. As we plan for the future, a community wellness clinic is in development to offer critically needed clinical services in our fields to the community and serve as a learning laboratory for our students. I hope you will take a moment to read this newsletter to see what a great foundation we are building, and I invite you to join us as we get ready to celebrate 10 years of success.

Sincerely,
