Graduate Degree/Curriculum

The Department of Art at The University of Mississippi is committed to preparing graduate students to excel in creative production, research, education, and service in the visual arts. Our programs begin with a basis in the liberal arts, which gives artists a wider understanding of the world. Applicants to this program should have strong motivation to pursue their disciplines in depth and the creative energy and imagination that can be recognized, supported, and assisted by specialized faculty.

The Department of Art offers a graduate program leading to the Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art (MFA degree.) There are four areas of study that are offered to the prospective graduate student.
