Philanthropy is a large part of her work as an artist and she annually coordinates an Empty Bowls Luncheon in her region, creating bowls with her students to serve patrons a modest meal and raise funds for and awareness of hunger issues in America. She has a national exhibition record and is currently the Chair of the Art Department at East Central College in Union, MO and lead a topical discussion group on issues concerning contemporary emergent ceramic sculptors at the National Council on Education in the Ceramic Arts in March 2006. Her most recent installation was December 2005 at the Green Door Gallery in Kansas City, MO featuring her unique puppets and figurines touted as, “…visually interesting, amusing and engaging; they [strike] the perfect balance between whimsy and craft,” Ray T. Barker.
