Cory Lewis was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She has BFA and MFA degrees in ceramics from The University of Mississippi. In 1994, Lewis opened her ceramics studio located just off the Oxford Square. This was made possible in part by a grant from The Mississippi Arts Commission. Lewis's ceramic sculpture has been exhibited throughout the United States, and abroad.

In 1997, Lewis received a grant to study pastry and sugar art in New York City. After receiving a certificate in Pastry Arts from the Institute for Culinary Education, Lewis worked in New York as a food stylist for television and photography. She returned to the Institute for Culinary Education as an instructor in pastry and sugar art. Lewis's sugar work has been published in numerous magazines, including Bride's Magazine and Carmel Bride's Magazine, and has appeared at celebrity events in New York City and Los Angeles, California.

In 2003, Lewis returned to Oxford to teach design at The University of Mississippi and continue her work in ceramics and culinary design. Currently, she is working as the food stylist for an upcoming cookbook to be released in 2005.
