My primary artistic efforts are focused on permanent site-specific installations, both public and private work. My public art credentials include a 2007 Cor-ten steel and bronze commission for Chattanooga’s Renaissance Park, created in partnership with artist Brad Bourgoyne. This work has been honored as an exemplary national project in the 2008 Year in Review presented by Americans for the Arts.

Also significant in my portfolio is Transcendence, a civil rights memorial at Little Rock’s Central High School National Historic Site. Developed in collaboration with Michael Warrick, the project consists of a half-acre garden design, site furnishings and a central sculpture.

My media palette is diverse, including fabricated metals, cast metals, and any construction material deemed necessary for structure and/or aesthetic. For example, the Central High project incorporates brick, concrete, printed images on stainless steel, seating areas and landscape design. I am currently working on a project to commemorate the 1815 land survey of the American West, a design which will utilize large-scale etched glass and stainless steel in a very modern interpretation of the historical event. Ceramic sculpture and video projection are featured in my gallery installation, Projected Idol: a madman’s obsession, which toured to several venues in 2005/06 (including Houston’s Lawndale Art Center and Tulsa’s LivingArts).

I hold a BA (1993) and an MA (1998) in sculpture from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. After earning my Master of Fine Arts from Louisiana State University in May 2002, I remained at the school as a Research Specialist for the Art Department for several years. I was raised in New Orleans, the place which shaped my relationship with art, architecture and society. I now live and work as a full-time artist from my home studio and foundry in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
