Hello again from the aquatics staff at Ole Miss!
We are Happy to announce that we have NEW swimming lessons supervisors and plan to be much more organized and enthusiastic for lessons this semester.
This semester we first like to apologize for the inconvenience of the pool being closed. We were planning to reopen by January 23rd for alumni to sign up for swim lessons, but the repair process has taken longer than expected. We have a few new things going on this semester with swimming lessons. The first is because of the positive response we will now be offering lessons on Saturday's for Red, Blue, OLE and Rebel classes. These will be hour long classes and last for 4 weeks. Second, we will be offering a Baby class at Noon on Tuesday's.
We know that many people have inquired over the past years about haveing lessons at other times then the ones that we normally schedule. We are more than willing to offer classes earlier in the day and have teachers that would like to teach, BUT the class must consist of at least 4 students to be offered. So if you have a group of students that would like a class at another time please EMAIL us with contact information and we will get with you and do our best to provide a class at that time.
Also if you are interested in private lessons we have a list of teachers that you may choose from. The cost will be different from regular swimming lessons. The private lessons can last for as long or as short as you would like. Please EMAIL us if you are interested and we will get with you and provide you with more information. Please don't call and ask because many of the lifeguards don't know accurate information, and it will be much easier for us to stay organized if you email. We will be checking the account often so please feel free to email back when ever you get the chance.
Get excited about swimming lessons, summer is right around the corner.
Please see attachment for the complete swimming lessons schedule and registration form.
Thanks ~

It is also important for the parents to learn the skills needed to help their children feel comfortable in the water as well as to teach basic water skills. Students enrolled must be at least 6 months old.
WHITE FISH I: This level is designed for children who have never had swim lessons before and are generally afraid of the water. Children in this class may be very young and are most likely going to be apprehensive about putting their faces in the water, floating, blowing bubbles, etc. The purpose of White Fish I is to help children understand safety around the water and to build their comfort level in the water. Children in these classes will also begin to learn basic water skills. Students enrolled must be at least 3 years old.
WHITE FISH II: Children in the White Fish II class must be able to successfully perform all the skills required to exit the White Fish I class. Apprehension in the water should be totally relieved for the student to progress to Red Fish. White Fish II continue learning basic water skills, and they should be able to perform the skills with support of the teacher. Suggested age for White Fish II is 5 years and older.
RED FISH: In order to progress to the Red Fish class, a student must have successfully completed both White Fish I and II or be able to successfully perform all the required skills of the earlier classes.
