Natatorium Employment
Lifeguard Requirement
Students interested in working in the Natatorium as a Lifeguard are required to have current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and CPR-For the Professional Rescuer Certification.
Must successfully pass the Turner Center Lifeguard Evaluation and Interview Process.
Demonstrate the ability to act professionally in all situations associated with aquatic duties..
Knowledge of principles and practices of pool guidelines, policies and procedures.
Demonstrate the ability to work well with the aquatic patrons, aquatic staff, and Campus Recreation staff.
Instructor Requirements
The aquatic office hires students to teach swim lessons, lifeguarding, and CPR.<br> <br>
Although not required, it is preferred that applicants possess a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and CPR-For the Professional Rescuer Certification.
Must successfully pass the Turner Center Aquatic Instructor Interview Process.
Demonstrate the ability to act professionally in all situations associated with aquatic duties..

Demonstrate the ability to work well with the aquatic patrons, aquatic staff, and Campus Recreation staff.
All aquatic staff members are required to maintain a high physical and mental fitness level. The guard staff must practice their rescue skills periodically as directed. Random evaluations will occur to assess the personal fitness and skill levels (brick treading, CPR skills, etc). Frequent "Red Cap" drills will be conducted to ensure that everyone is familiar with the Emergency Action Plan as developed by the DCR.
