Outstanding Teaching in a Sophomore Literature Class and Outstanding Teaching In a Junior Seminar

Who’s eligible: GI teaching ENGL 101 or 102

Nominations: Letter of self-nomination to be sent to the office of the Director of Freshman English. The Writing Committee in the Department of English will review all applications and name recipients.

Selection criteria: Recipient must have taught ENGL 101 or 102 for at least one full semester in the calendar year 2006, letter of self-nomination, teaching portfolio to include a syllabus or syllabi from the 2006 calendar year (and current one, if applicable), samples of writing assignments and other types of in-class and out-of-class activities, a brief statement of teaching philosophy (not to exceed one typed page), and student evaluations, also from the preceding semester, and vita.
