Kim Barnes
Senior Administrative Secretary
Mrs. Barnes is the information manager for the Office of the Chancellor. She directs and monitors the flow of calls, visitors, incoming and outgoing mail for the Chancellor and others in his office. She provides final proofreading and editing for outgoing correspondence. She schedules meetings for the Chancellor’s board room, maintains up-to-date mail records, directives and related materials.
Donald Cole
Assistant Provost, Assistant to the Chancellor for Multicultural Affairs and Associate Professor of Mathematics
Dr. Cole serves as the University’s Chief Diversity Officer. He provides creative leadership in developing and maintaining a campus environment that reflects the University’s commitment to multicultural diversity and serves as the central University administrator coordinating and promoting related issues and programs. Through the Office of the Provost, he oversees academic support programs and practices that promote faculty, staff, student and curriculum diversity.
Peggy Hunter
Executive Assistant
Mrs. Hunter is personal secretary to Dr. Andy Mullins. She also coordinates information provided by the Chancellor’s office to the IHL Board. She schedules meetings for the IHL Board Room, works with members of the Board of Trustees, members of the State Legislature, works with the Assistant to the Chancellor for Multicultural Affairs, internal and external departments, organizations, agencies and the general public. She also serves as Notary Public for the Chancellor’s Office.
Sue Keiser
Assistant to the Chancellor
Mrs. Keiser responds to a variety of questions and concerns from the Institutes of Higher Learning board members, alumni, students, and other members of the University community. She acts as a liaison between the office of the Chancellor and Vice Chancellors and various departments on the Oxford campus. She also oversees the Chancellor’s office and its staff and serves as a Chancellor’s office representative on many University committees.
Janet Key
Senior Administrative Secretary
Ms. Key is records supervisor for the Chancellor’s office. She organizes, designs and maintains a complex filing system of official documents and provides secretarial support to one or more individuals. She also assists with technical and non-technical word processing, and is qualified in the use of SAP programs.
Andrew Mullins, Jr.
Executive Assistant to the Chancellor and Associate Professor of Education
Dr. Mullins oversees a wide variety of issues including governmental relations. He is the K-12 and the Community College liaison for the university. He represents the university with all the branches of government—city, county, state and federal—and works with the Board of Education for the Institutions of Higher Learning, Community Colleges, and K-12. In the School of Education, Dr. Mullins is Co-Director of the Mississippi Teacher Corps Program.
Linda Peal
Executive Communications Liaison and Speech Writer
Ms. Peal is the Chancellor’s speech writer. She also works closely with the Chancellor and Vice Chancellors writing letters, newspaper editorials, presentations and proposals. She is the liaison between the Chancellor's Office and the Office of University Relations.
Linda Spargo
Coordinator for Special Projects and Academic Advisor for the Chancellor’s Office
Dr. Spargo also serves as Director of the Paris-Yates Chapel on campus and teaches a class in business communications in the School of Business Administration. She is the faculty advisor for several campus organizations and serves as ombudsman for the office, working closely with students, parents, faculty, and staff about recruiting, retention, and myriad campus issues.
Shirley Stuart
Secretary to the Chancellor
Mrs. Stuart is responsible for scheduling all appointments for the Chancellor, coordinating travel arrangements and securing conference facilities for meetings. She assists and supports the Chancellor in a manner that ensures an effectively functioning office and is a liaison to students, faculty, staff, and the public.
