Course Objectives & Outcomes

Objective: To acquaint freshman undergraduates with the activities and careers pursued by chemical engineers and cultivate a foundation in engineering problem solving.

Desired Outcomes:

Provide a basic description of career options available to chemical engineers and the industries where chemical engineers are commonly employed.
Convert engineering units.
Solve simple dimensional problems.
Use a computer to perform calculations, create graphs, and perform linear regression of representative engineering data.
