Course Objectives & Outcomes
Objective: To provide students with a working knowledge of engineering economics and project management.
Outcomes:
1. Understand economic decision-making and its impact on engineering design problems.
2. Estimate the costs for a unit or system at an appropriate level of detail.
3. Understand the time value of money, cash flows, depreciation, the impacts of taxation, risk, and return on investment, and use these concepts to make appropriate engineering replacement or design decisions.
4. Understand and be able to apply the concepts of project management.
5. Present findings, orally and/or in writing, in a logical and coherent manner.

Homework (including group work) 30%
Exams 40%
Final Exam 30%
The grading scale will be 87/80/74/68.
