Sample Preparation

Typically samples are introduced into the ICP-MS in solution form. Often this requires some level of sample preparation (e.g., filtering, ashing, acid digestion, fusion, column-chemistry for analyte isolation and matrix removal, etc.) Microwave digestion is common because it speeds the time required for dissolution and retains volatile components. There are a wide variety of procedures for digestion of samples and our staff will work with you to choose the optimal procedure for your circumstances. Users are encouraged to visit the following website for useful information and tips regarding sample preparation: http://www.ivstandards.com/tech/reliability/part04.asp
