William D. Porter is an Ole Miss Civil Engineering graduate, class of 1971. He is President of W. H. Porter & Co., Inc., a consulting Engineering, Planning & Surveying firm engaged in transportation, traffic, municipal, and hydraulic/hydrologic engineering, as well as all types of surveying. He is responsible for the ultimate supervision and coordination of all personnel on a daily basis. In his 26+ years of experience with the company, he has been involved with projects from the initial planning and design stage to the project management and construction supervision stages.

Mr. Porter is a registered professional engineer in Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Florida and a registered land surveyor in Tennessee. He has given short courses on Urban Hydrology, Geodesy, Contract Review and Revision, and other topics. He serves on the Advisory Committee for Formulation of the City of Memphis Drainage Manual and the Advisory Board of the School of Engineering at the University of Mississippi.
