Friends,
At the invitation of Ole Miss Civil Engineering
Department, the ASCE Mississippi Chapter will host its spring meeting at Oxford
on April 21-22, 2005. Please see message below and the attachment for more
detail.
The Ole Miss CE department has very strong presence
in the meeting in the following way: 1. A number of papers will be presented by
our faculty, adjunct faculty, graduate and undergraduate students. 2. A number
of papers are invited by our faculty to form special sessions. 3. A number of
other presenters are our alums.
By this email, I invite you to come to this meeting
to meet with faculty, students, and alumni. The paper presentation will
take place on April 22, Friday.
By this email I also like to invite you to another
function of this meeting. On April 21, Thursday, there is a conference dinner. I
have arranged the dinner to be catered by Abbeville Catfish at 6:30 pm on the
Circle, in front of Carrier Hall, at $15 a head. I will do the
following:
1. Invite all our graduate and undergraduate
students and faculty to the dinner to meet with the professionals.
2. The department will pay for all graduating
students (May and August graduates) so this will be a send-off party for them.
Whether you want to participate the conference next
day or not, I invite you to this dinner to meet with our graduating seniors and
graduate students.
If you would join us, please utilize the attached
registration form to directly register with ASCE. (Please watch the April 8
deadline.) At the same time, please drop me a note so I can have a idea about
the alumni participation.

Subject: ASCE Mississippi Section Meeting
All:
I’m pleased to announce that ASCE’s
North Mississippi Branch will be hosting the spring Section meeting this
year. The meeting will be held at the Oxford Conference Center (OCC), in
Oxford, MS, on Thursday and Friday, April 21 and 22,
2005. I anticipate that the Section office will be mailing a newsletter
and announcement soon, with additional information.
We’ll start Thursday evening with a
social get-together, a catfish supper at The Circle on the Ole Miss
campus. We have a full schedule of speakers planned at the OCC on
Friday. Exhibitors will also be on site Friday. A schedule of
presentations is included as an attachment.
A registration form is also included
as an attachment. Please register as soon as possible, so we can plan our
meals accordingly (Thursday supper and Friday luncheon).
