Chi Epsilon Chapter

The Ole Miss Chapter of Chi Epsilon was founded in 1937 as the fourteenth chapter in the United States and the first in the Southeast. Since that time 459 students have been initiated and 30 alumni have been elevated to honor member status.

The objectives of the Ole Miss Chapter are to maintain and promote the status of civil engineering as an ideal profession, to bestow honor upon civil engineering juniors, seniors and graduate students who have demonstrated exceptional scholarship, and to develop the qualities of character, practicality and sociability in each member of the chapter. In order to carry out these objectives, the Chapter provides a number of services such as organizing a Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) review course, providing free tutoring to other civil engineering students, recognizing the outstanding civil engineering freshman and senior civil engineering scholar, organizing and providing funds for field trips, writing an annual alumni newsletter, setting up displays and projects for Career Day and assisting in high school progams such as model contests and MATHCOUNTS. To foster sociability, members participate in pizza parties, bowling outings and a Spring picnic.
