Dr. Ken Griffin, P.E., is the Executive Director
of the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District (PRVWSD), the State
Agency responsible for managing the 35,000 acre Ross Barnett Reservoir
and the 21,000 acres surrounding the Reservoir. He has 11 years
of experience as the head of state, county, and city agencies, as
well as a regional utility. As Executive Director, Dr. Griffin had
led the PRVWSD to formulate comprehensive visions of the Districts
for water supply, recreation, and quality residential communities.
In implementing these visions Dr. Griffin has successfully negotiated
cooperative ventures with local governments, non-profit organizations,
and with the private sector. Dr. Griffin graduated
with honors from The University of California at Irvine, and received
M.S. degrees in Limnology from Cornell University and in Environmental
Engineering from The University of Southern California. His Ph.D.
from the University of Mississippi emphasized leadership and management
topics, especially executive education. He has taught management
courses for engineers and public works directors at Cornell University
and at Arizona State University. Dr. Griffin is a registered professional
engineer in Mississippi, New York, Arizona, and California. He is
a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Water
Works Association, and The Institute of Transportation Engineers.
