Dr. Eric Jao joined the faculty of CE at Ole Miss
in August, 2004. Dr. Jao is also the Director of Off-Campus Engineering
Programs, with the responsibility of helming Off-Campus Engineering
programs for the School of Engineering. Dr. Jao is in charge of
both graduate and undergraduate programs at DeSoto and Tupelo campuses
with televised video conferencing as well as on-line courses to
offer a learning schedule that's friendly to non-traditional students
who have full-time jobs and families.
Dr. Jao has more than 10 years of industrial experience, particularly
in rubber industry. He had worked for The Goodyear Tire and Rubber
Company in corporate basic research, manufacturing, strategic business
unit, and advanced product development with both domestic and international
experience. In addition to real-life manufacturing experience, his
analytical specialty is in composite materials and mechanics.
Dr. Jao has been recently active in field of biomedical
engineering, particularly in joint prosthesis technology with several
publications in press. It is an area he believes that advancements
in materials and mechanical modeling, likely through nanotechnology,
will bring significant contributions to human health and quality
of life.
