Dr. Daniel Wren is is a Research Scientist in the
Channel and Watershed Processes Research Unit of the National Sedimentation
Laboratory, USDA. Previously he was a Research Scientist at the
National Center for Physical Acoustics here on the Ole Miss campus.
There, he is working on agro-acoustic projects including suspended-sediment
measurement, catfish measurement, and catfish sound analysis. He
received his Ph.D. through the Ole Miss Civil Engineering Department
in 2000. His research was carried out at USDA-ARS-National Sedimentation
Laboratory and the topics were suspended-sediment transport, hydraulics,
and suspended-sediment measurement. Daniel received his M.S. degree
in 1996 from Mississippi State University in Biological Engineering
after working on the development of a distributed data acquisition
system for automated collection of stormwater runoff samples from
research plots. He received his B.S. degree in Biological Engineering
from Mississippi State in 1994.
