Typical Program of Study

Educational Preparation

To begin studies toward a classics career you need 15 high school units, including 4 in English, 3 in mathematics, and 2 1/2 in social studies. Some high school study of a foreign language is helpful as preparation for college work in classics. Emphases are available in Classical Civilization, Greek, and Latin. A minor may be taken in another area of interest, such as law, premedicine, philosophy and religions, psychology, mathematics, or history. Upon completion of the approved course of study, the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree will be awarded.
