About Communication Sciences and Disorders

If you are concerned about the problems of people with speech, language or hearing disabilities, consider a career in one of the fields of communicative disorders. A career in communicative disorders offers many opportunities for service to humankind, as well as a continuing challenge to researchers because of the infinite complexity of communication processes. Professionals in communicative disorders can serve both adults and children in any one of the following employment settings: clinical service centers, hospitals, public school systems, health departments, colleges and universities, industry, research centers and private practice. Careers in CD include: audiologist, speech-hearing scientist, speech-language pathologist, teacher of the deaf, and adult education English teacher.
