CORE REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS WANTING TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR GRADUATE SCHOOL

CD 201 Introduction to Comm. Disorders
CD 205 Anatomy and Physiology of Speech and Hearing Mechanisms
CD 211 Phonetics

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS

1. A minimum of 36 course work hours is required

2. Unless otherwise advised, each student must enroll in three semester hours of practicum each semester of full-time enrollment and two hours of clinical seminar in addition to course work for each time practicum hours is required. The expected number of semesters of enrollment is 5.

3. Of the total 400 clinical clock hours required for a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, a minimum of 325 hours must be earned under the direction of the Ole Miss CD faculty and/or local adjunct supervisors. Under special arrangements, portions of practicum can be completed elsewhere upon faculty approval.

4. Graduate Students must maintain a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average in the department to maintain enrollment, to qualify for graduation and to qualify for department financial aid consideration.

5. Students are not admitted to the graduate program who do not have approved undergraduate preparation in Communicative Disorders.

6. Students Presenting academic hours in Communicative Disorders from another institution of higher education must have an evaluation of credits and determination of appropriate course work by the student's advisor with approval by the Department Chair.
