Students in the University of Mississippi Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders leads to the Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Disorders and the Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. All majors in speech pathology earn a Master's degree in order to fulfill the academic and practicum requirements for certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) as well as for state certification and licensure. The Bachelor's degree is considered to be pre-professional.
