Four MTS universal testing machines (5 kip to 110 kip capacities) with computer-controlled data acquisition are used for mechanical testing. Each machine is equipped with test fixtures for Iosipescu shear, short-beam shear, three and four-point flex, and Boeing modified compression. Each also has hydraulic wedge grips for tension and fatigue testing. A Tinius Olsen 10,000 in- lb torsion test machine is available for torsional property characterization of round pultruded composites. Facitilies for environmental conditioning of samples are also available.
