Bio: A native of Louisville, MS. earned a B.S. in elementary education, a master in early childhood education, a master in educational leadership, and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of MS. Presently she is employed with the University of MS as an Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Instruction in the School of Education. She has served as faculty member in the School of Education for the past three (3) years and four (4) years as an IHL faculty for the Barksdale Reading Institute. Previously, Dr. Thompson served as a first and second grade teacher, assistant principal and retired from Oxford Elementary School as a principal in Oxford, Mississippi. She in now serving in various capacities with organizations such as Boys & Girls Club, Leap Frog, Lafayette County School Board, MS PTA Board, Baptist Memorial Hospital Community Advisory Board, and AKA Sorority.
