During this 1 1/2 hour session teachers will discover the mission of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and take a historical look at this prestigious, hard-working group. The requirements for engaging in the National Board process will be discussed and knowledge of the availablility of the different certificate areas will be shared. Teachers will gain an understanding of the intensive, time-consuming work that is required when they choose to engage in this voluntary, highly rewarding process. The timeline, scoring process, requirements of the portfolio and test will be highlighted and there will be a time for questions and answers.
