UM Engineering Research

The University of Mississippi School of Engineering conducts both basic and applied research in a broad variety of areas. In addition to the research conducted by the faculty, staff, and students within the six academic departments and eleven graduate research program emphases, the School is home to two separated funded research centers, The Mississippi Mineral Resources Institute and Center for Marine Resources and Environmental Technology (MMRI - CMRET) and the National Center for Computational Hydroscience and Engineering (NCCHE). The School also has a very close affiliation with the National Center for Physical Acoustics (NCPA) with several of their researchers having faculty appointments within the School.

The School of Engineering is internationally known for its research in computational hydrosciences, electromagnetics and radar technology, the pultrusion of composite materials, and its minerals sciences to just name a few. These areas plus a selection of other important research areas are available from the Research Area site. Other research is presented within the various department graduate program emphasis areas. Technologies developed by the School of Engineering faculty available for licensing can be viewed at The University of Mississippi Division of Technology Management website.

The list of faculty publications provides a good insight into the various areas of research within the School. These publications may be viewed by year of publication, by author, by academic departments, or by keyword phrase contained in the title of the publication - presentation.
