Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
The program goal is to give the student a thorough education in contemporary computer science while allowing sufficient flexibility for the student to pursue individual interests in related technical fields.
Objectives
- Students completing the BSCS degree will be capable of implementing a computerized solution to a practical problem.
- All students will gain experience working in development teams.
- Students will exhibit professional ethics and abide by the School of Engineering Honor Code.
- All program graduates will be proficient in relating technical concepts through written and oral communications.
- Students graduating from the program will have a good general background in computer science, will be proficient in at least one high-level programming language, and will be familiar with a range of computing languages and paradigms.
The program goal and objectives are consistent with the Mission Statement of The University of Mississippi.
